Blu Dot surpasses 2,000% ROAS with self-serve CTV ads
Home furniture brand Blu Dot blew up on CTV with help from Roku Ads Manager. Here’s how:
After a test campaign reached 211,000 households and achieved 1,010% ROAS, the brand went all in to promote its annual sales event. It removed age and income constraints to expand reach and shifted budget to custom audiences and retargeting, where intent was strongest.
The results speak for themselves. As Blu Dot increased their investment by 10x, ROAS jumped to 2,308% and more page-view conversions surpassed 50,000.
“For CTV campaigns, Roku has been a top performer,” said Claire Folkestad, Paid Media Strategist, Blu Dot. “Comping to our other platforms, we have seen really strong ROAS… and highly efficient CPMs, lower than any other CTV partner we've worked with.”
Using Roku Ads Manager, the campaign moved from a pilot to a permanent performance engine for the brand.
Deleting a Server Doesn’t Delete Everything Around It
Cloud infrastructure creates more than virtual machines. Snapshots, disks, backups, IP addresses, DNS records, logs, credentials, and automation configurations can survive after the original resource disappears.
Orphaned Resources Lose Their Owners
When projects end or teams reorganize, leftover cloud assets may remain active without anyone clearly responsible for monitoring, patching, or removing them.
Old Snapshots Can Contain Valuable Data
A forgotten disk snapshot may preserve databases, configuration files, application secrets, customer information, or historical credentials long after production systems have changed.

Abandoned Resources Still Cost Money — and Create Risk
Unused storage, databases, load balancers, and compute instances don't just increase cloud bills. Every unnecessary resource expands the environment security teams must protect.
Infrastructure-as-Code Can Recreate Old Mistakes
Deleting an insecure resource manually doesn't solve the problem if outdated templates can deploy the same configuration again during the next release.
Make Decommissioning Part of Cloud Security
Tag resources with owners, automate lifecycle policies, scan for orphaned assets, remove unused snapshots and credentials, and update deployment templates when systems are retired. In the cloud, “deleted” should describe the entire footprint — not just the resource you can see.
